Dr. Erick Alayo went to medical school at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Cook County Hospital as well.

Dr. Erick Alayo special interests are those conditions that affect your liver and pancreas. In addition to his clinical skills, Dr. Alayo has a large experience in clinical research with many publications, awards and grants through his career.

Dr. Erick Alayo works using the new standard of care strategies for diagnosis and treatment of different gastrointestinal disorders. He will only perform a procedure if this is indicated and he makes sure that all his patients know all the possible diagnostic and treatment options.
